Aruba and Colombia explore new trade opportunities

ORANJESTAD — Aruba welcomed a delegation representing 19 Colombian companies during a trade mission organized by ProColombia. The mission aimed to connect Colombian businesses with the Aruban market and identify concrete opportunities for trade and investment.

The participating companies offered agricultural products, processed and frozen fruits and vegetables, coffee, cacao, beverages and digital services. They visited local supermarkets to learn more about available products, pricing, packaging and consumer preferences. A visit to ASTEC also provided information about transportation, cold-chain requirements and logistics for fresh and frozen goods.

During Colombia Showroom Aruba, the companies presented their products directly to importers, distributors, supermarkets, hotels and restaurants. They also received feedback about market requirements and possible adjustments to their commercial proposals.

According to Minister Geoffrey Wever, Colombia could help Aruba diversify its imports and identify more competitive options. The goal is for the contacts established during the mission to develop into concrete trade and lasting commercial relationships.

Since 2023, Aruba has maintained an Aruba Trade & Investment Office in Bogotá to support businesses and investors interested in opportunities between the two markets.
