Aruba becomes 17% cheaper for Colombian travelers

ORANJESTAD — Aruba has emerged as one of the destinations becoming significantly cheaper for travelers from Colombia, according to an analysis published by El Colombiano based on KAYAK data. The average round-trip fare to Oranjestad fell 17% compared with the same period in 2025, reaching approximately 1,222,621 Colombian pesos.

That places Aruba among the destinations with the largest decline in airfares. The 17% drop was greater than the reductions recorded for Miami, at 8%, and Willemstad, Curaçao, at 7%.

In a ranking of the cheapest flights from Colombia, Oranjestad placed fourth. Panama City had the lowest average fare at 923,941 Colombian pesos, followed by Guatemala City and Santo Domingo. Aruba followed at 1,222,621 pesos for a round-trip economy-class ticket.

The situation has become even more favorable for Colombian travelers because of the recent strength of the Colombian peso against the U.S. dollar. With the dollar trading around 3,100 pesos, travelers have greater purchasing power for dollar-denominated expenses such as hotels, food, transportation, shopping and tourist activities.

For Aruba, where many tourism expenses are directly or indirectly linked to the dollar, the combination of cheaper flights and a stronger Colombian peso could make the island more attractive to the Colombian market.

The analysis nevertheless stresses that a cheaper dollar does not automatically make every part of a trip less expensive. Hotel prices, demand, seasonality, airline capacity and booking timing also influence the final cost.
