Wingo links Aruba with five Colombian cities, targets 150,000 passengers
ORANJESTAD — Air connectivity between Aruba and Colombia has continued to expand in 2026, with Wingo now directly linking the island to five Colombian cities: Bogotá, Medellín, Cali, Bucaramanga and Barranquilla.
Together with the Aruba Tourism Authority, the airline expects to transport approximately 150,000 passengers between the two markets in 2026. From January through July, Wingo carried about 73,000 passengers across these routes.
According to Wingo, 84% of passengers travel to Aruba for vacation, while about 70% of travelers are Colombian. The remaining 30% are Aruban and Dutch citizens. Traffic also increasingly flows in the opposite direction, with Aruba residents travelling to Colombia for tourism, shopping, health and wellness services, and business.
Wingo began its Bogotá-Aruba service in December 2016, followed by Medellín in 2022 and Cali in 2023. Bucaramanga and Barranquilla were added during 2026.
The Aruba Tourism Authority considers Colombia a strategic tourism market and says expanded connectivity can help showcase Aruba beyond its beaches, including its culture, cuisine, nature and wellness offerings.
