Herdé: ir. Roland Croes will remain director of SETAR N.V.

ORANJESTAD — Minister of Housing, Infrastructure, Internal Services and Telecommunications Rene Herdé has indicated that over the past few days he held several discussions with the parties involved, including current SETAR director ir. Roland Croes, the Supervisory Board and union STT.

According to Minister Herdé, SETAR is a solid company that provides an essential service to the community and, at the same time, has opportunities to continue growing and expanding in a robust way for Aruba’s future.

The current process is related to the fact that ir. Roland Croes is approaching retirement age. In that context, the Government initiated discussions to evaluate both continuity in leadership and the direction the company should take afterward.

“The central point for us is to guarantee SETAR’s continuity and success, also looking beyond the current period,” Minister Herdé said.

As part of the process, the Minister also met with union representatives and held discussions with the Supervisory Board. According to Herdé, the Government analyzed the recommendations and proposals presented before determining the next step.

Minister Herdé said the Government took the necessary time to evaluate the matter responsibly, taking into account both SETAR’s continuity and the company’s interests and future.

The meeting with ir. Roland Croes was not limited to the issue of leadership. Prime Minister Mike Eman and Minister Herdé also had the opportunity to speak with the director and gain a closer look at SETAR’s operations during a tour of the company.

“We are talking about an important company for Aruba. That is why continuity, stability and strong direction for the future must be at the center of the decision we make,” Herdé said, confirming that ir. Roland Croes will remain at the helm as director of SETAR N.V.
