Government and UTV/ATV sector to form committee ahead of court case

ORANJESTAD — The Aruban government and representatives of the UTV and ATV sector continued talks Monday in what Minister Rene Herdé described as a constructive atmosphere. The next step is the formation of a broadly representative committee to structure the dialogue and work toward concrete solutions.

Herdé said the government is considering concerns about business continuity and employment while keeping the sector informed throughout the process. Talks will continue as the government awaits Thursday’s court hearing. According to the minister, the objective is a responsible and balanced solution that considers both the applicable framework and the sector’s economic and employment realities.
