Eman: Aruba can become a knowledge hub for Latin America

ORANJESTAD/PERU – Prime Minister Mike Eman believes Aruba has the potential to become more than a tourism destination by developing into a regional knowledge and innovation hub for Latin America. During his official visit to Peru, that vision received strong interest, particularly following Aruba's recent agreement with Wageningen University & Research (WUR).

According to Eman, Aruba can serve as a bridge between the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Latin America by exporting expertise, professional services, and sustainable solutions in areas such as agriculture, water management, biodiversity, and climate adaptation.

The agreement with Wageningen explores the possibility of establishing a permanent presence in Aruba, creating opportunities for regional research, technical assistance, and cooperation with countries such as Peru that face major climate and agricultural challenges.

Eman said the initiative could also create highly skilled jobs for Arubans while strengthening the island's position as a regional center for education, research, and innovation.
