Wingo expands air links between Aruba and Colombia

ORANJESTAD – Aruba has celebrated the expansion of its air connectivity with Colombia through Wingo's official launch of its direct Barranquilla-Aruba route. The ceremony at Queen Beatrix International Airport also highlighted the airline's recently introduced Bucaramanga-Aruba service.

Minister of Tourism, Transportation and Labor Wendrick Cicilia said the new routes are part of Aruba's strategy to diversify its tourism markets, strengthen regional connectivity and create new economic opportunities.

According to the minister, the connections with Barranquilla and Bucaramanga will not only boost tourism but also facilitate trade, investment, medical travel, family reunification and cultural exchange.

With the addition of the new routes, Wingo now connects Aruba directly with five Colombian cities. The inaugural flight from Barranquilla arrived with more than 90% seat occupancy, while the return flight departed with a 98% load factor, underscoring strong demand for the service.
