Aruba Airport operation continues regardless of island blackout

ORANJESTAD - Even though Aruba is experiencing a complete power outage (black-out), the airport remains open and operational. This, according to airport spokesperson Hendrik Croes. The emergency back-up system is providing the necessary power for the primary services. “ All departing passengers have to be at the airport 3 hours prior their flight (normal procedure). Passengers can expect some lines, but as soon as the power issue is solved all processes will continue without any inconveniences”.
