ORANJESTAD – Member of Parliament Mike de Meza has reached an agreement with the Public Prosecutor’s Office regarding his case. Under the agreement, De Meza must pay Afl. 2,500 as a settlement, but he does not have to admit guilt to the allegation previously made against him, namely that he failed to comply with his tax obligations.
In addition, this means that the Public Prosecutor’s Office will provide him with the required certificate of conduct, meaning that De Meza is now once again eligible for appointment as a minister.
De Meza and his legal team presented the development during a press conference on Tuesday afternoon.
