ORANJESTAD/CARACAS – Compliance with a 4 phase MOU signed with Venezuela is delaying maritime traffic with the ABC islands. This according to Aruba Transportation minister Chris Romero this week during budget talks. The recent border re-opening between neighboring Venezuela and the islands did not include maritime traffic. Once the islands comply with the MOU, maritime traffic can commence. The phases include setting scheduled departure dates, set times, mooring positions, and document control.
