ORANJESTAD – The current outgoing AHATA CEO Jim Hepple may be leaving his current post, but not the island. In a brief statement to NoticiaCla, Hepple Monday confirmed rumors he was accepting a job at the Aruba University, but did not clarify if it was a teaching position. The news of Hotelier Tisa LaSorte becoming the new CEO in june, caught everyone off guard Sunday. Hepple told this website that his new job starts in may and that he looks forward to his new endevour. He confirmed that he loves the island and has no plans to leave anytime soon. News that he is working on getting is residency went unanswered. The tourism veteran dismissed the rumor he was in line for an important tourism position in Curacao, although he admitted being asked some time ago to work there. He said he currently wasn’t interested. “ I very much like living in Aruba and look forward to continue contributing to the community in whatever way I can.” Hepple told the website. Hepple was at the helm of AHATA for over 8 years, and started the position in November of 2008.
